  • Saturday Farmers Market

Whoo-hoo I didn’t have to work this Saturday so we got to go the Davis Farmer’s market. They have the fall vegetables out as well as beautiful collection of flowers out there. I came home with an heirloom garlic variety, bundle of leeks (for soup tonight), myer lemons, and this great Marin Gourmet hummus. Now…

  • Today’s Photo

These are daisies Simon bought a few weeks ago. I think these were the healthiest and the last of the daisies at the store. When we went there a few weeks ago they were moving out the summer and fall plants and making room for Christmas trees and holiday items (before Halloween even!).

  • Oil Spill in San Francisco

This Wednesday a tanker boat drove into the bay bridge and spilled over 58,000 gallons of oil into the San Francisco Bay. At this point they have only been able to recover 8,000 gallons of oil. But experts say that it maybe a lost cause as the oil that was spilled is heavier and almost…

  • A few weeks ago we went camping near the Oregon border. Along the Smith River they had this small patch of flowers. I didn’t see them anywhere else in the area and they looked so out of place. I think they are beautiful. Does anyone have any guesses on what type of flower this is?

  • November 9th Daily Photo

I just felt like sharing one my flower pictures.

  • Cosmo Take Over

There is big debate over whether or not Cosmos are a flower to be treasured or are they a noxious weed that takes over your whole garden. I’ve enjoyed their flowers all summer but I’m starting to see their weed like tendencies. Little seedlings are popping up everywhere. In the vegetable bed, in the tomato…

  • NABLOPOMO 07

It’s national blog writing month and I am going to be participating in National Blog Posting Month 07. It’s my first time doing this so it should be interesting.

  • Free Seeds

The holidays came a little early for me. As I have mentioned before I am a bit of a seed addict. I can’t help myself I see the shiny well photographed seed packet and I must buy them. In fact the downside of fall/winter is the limited planting opportunities. That’s why I was so excite…

  • Day Lights Saving Time

It’s Daylights Savings Time which means for the first time in my life I have been an hour early for everything. Have a good Sunday everyone and fix your clocks before you have to go to work tomorrow.

Got any book recommendations?
