  • Happy Halloween! Past, Present and Surprise!

Happy Halloween, I hope everyone had a good time and are recovering nicely from their candy hangover. Recently, my mom has been sending me photos from my childhood.  I thought I would share some of the pictures from my early Halloweens.  While looking at these I was surprised by how many times I chose to…

  • Battling the Turnip

I just grabbed my third box from my CSA and I realized that I never reported about my battle with the massive turnip. This was my first experience with eating and cooking a turnip. Since it was so big I actually was able to use it in two different recipes. The first time, I chopped…

  • Holiday Gift Idea: Making Your Own Peanut Brittle

Initially, I thought this was going to be an easy project that I could just throw together in a few short minutes. In the end it took three separate tries and a completely new recipe before I got it right. Admittedly, I have never made candy before and that was part of the problem. I…

  • Hibernating

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Today, I am relaxing, eating left overs, playing in the yard and staying far away from any retail store. Have a great weekend.

  • The Morning After

Yesterday was a big success. I avoided the malls and shopping frenzy and stayed home today. The best part of the day after Thanksgiving is that you can have pumpkin pie with your morning coffee. Yum. Here is a picture of last night’s dinner. We had turkey, cranberry sauce, squash casserole, potatoes, and crescent roles.

  • Howl-o-ween

I have entered Jack into Luvmutt’s Halloween contest. Here is Jack modeling his old Halloween costume from last year. Isn’t he dashing in his fake pantsuit? He tolerated everything but the wig. He was utterly embarrassed to be wearing it. Before last year I would have never thought to dress up my dog in a…
