Currently, it’s 108 degrees. My pale freckled face self is avoiding the heat and the sun and staying out of the garden. Instead I’m looking at cooler days to get my mind off the heat. Grab an icy beverage and kick up your feet and gaze at the pretty ocean. About two years ago, we went to Point Reyes, California for a little day trip. They have a little town with a few shops and places to eat. We stopped at a local deli and grabbed some sandwiches and other picnic food.
The oddest thing in town was this window display which was filled with fake, black crows. It was still summer time and no where near Halloween. The movie the “Birds” was filmed not far from here in Bodega Bay maybe it’s a tribute to Hitchcock.
From there we headed to the beach where it was refreshingly chilly. Brave souls were playing in the freezing ocean waters while the rest of us watched the waves and relaxed. We people watched and ate lunch and just enjoyed the nice day.
What about you guys, do you have a favorite day trip?
Wow! Those shots are gorgeous 🙂 Although the black birds are a bit creepy.
It’s been dreadfully hot here too *sigh* I have no idea how I’d live without A/C.
I spent a week at Point Reyes at a hostel in 8th grade and won’t forget the beautiful cliffs. Such a nice walk on the beach – we must have walked 5-7 miles one day and nobody in my class complained.
Awesome shots. It has been unbelievably nice here the past week – haven’t hit 100. We were wondering who we switched weather with… guess we know now.
Sorry. 😉
Dude. That’s HOT. I would love it.
GORGEOUS shots. I love the third to last one. It’s just plain incredible.
Oh that sounds absolutely lovely!
I hope it cools down there soon for you! 🙂
Thanks everyone, it really is a lovely place.
