Herbs and Such

Chamomile

I got a jump start on my herb and vegetable garden. Last year the only herb I grew was basil. But it was so nice to go into the garden and grab basil for pesto etc. This year I’m trying some new herbs such as Oregano, Thyme, Tarragon (what do you use this for?), Chamomile (which isn’t an herb) and possibly Sage. I am experimenting with basil as well, I had no idea there was so many different varieties of basil. This year I am growing Thai Basil, Large Leaf basil, Genovese Basil, and Purple Siam Basil. I can’t wait until spring so I can start using these guys.

Okay, your photos are just so awesome. One day I’ll have to beg someone to get me a nice camera 🙂
The herbs sound lovely….I LOVE thai basil…..we used to have it all the time in noodle soups!

Terragon reminds me a lot of rosemary, but with less ‘in your face’ness. I had it last night in the breading of some tilapia. Its definately good for foods that have delicate flavors. I did have trouble with some sort of bug really liking mine though, so I basically used half of what I managed to dry all summer on those fish fillets.
