“On the First day of Christmas my true love gave to me,” .. A Meyer Lemon tree.
I had tried my first Meyer Lemons at the farmers market a couple of months ago. It was so good and juicy. I used it with Chicken piccata and in a few martini’s. Meyer Lemons are a hybrid of lemon and a tangerine. The result is a sweeter less bitter fruit. My boyfriend surprised me on Christmas Eve with this little tree. So far it’s already yielded a few lemons. I’m keeping indoors at least through the winter. It seems to like there because it’s already sprouting a lot of flowers and new branches.
Your photos always astound me 🙂 I have never heard of this kind of lemon! I would love to try this….and cook with them. They sound delicious…what a lovely gift 🙂
That looks like a very neat tree! 🙂
What a great present! I bought myself a Meyer lemon not long ago…it lost half its leaves because of the dryness and darkness, but I gave it a pebble tray and the best window and it’s hanging in there, waiting for spring. When I bought it there were marvelously perfumed flowers on it, and I hear they can flower all year round in good conditions–I hope yours yields lots of flowers and fruit!
