Looking for the Great Pumpkin

DSC_0006

Saturday was gorgeous, it was the perfect day to jump in the car and head on over to the local pumpkin patch. Bobby Dazzlers Pumpkin patch is surrounded by farm land so it feels more authentic then the pumpkin patches of my youth. I love all of the colors, shapes and textures of the various pumpkins. After looking through the patch I found a gorgeous white pumpkin which have the best tasting seeds.

The petting zoo is a new addition to the patch. The animals were from an organization called T.R.O.T.R. which rescues racing horses and provides therapeutic riding for children with disabilities. They also take animals to schools and nursing homes for therapeutic and educational purposes. A representative of the organization saw me with my camera and personally introduced me to the group. They had goats, a very friendly donkey, a llama and alpaca mix, and his personal favorite Onyx the llama. She was by far the nicest llama I’ve ever met not to mention the prettiest. You got to love her pink collar.
