Usually, the first sign of fall out here is the hopeful but false promise of rain by the weather channel. The weather experts always predict rain at the end of the week only to find yourself sitting under the hot, cloudless sky seven days later. That’s why I got so excited when I saw dark clouds in the sky last Thursday. It rained for a good hour and gave everything a nice soaking. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that this is a sign of more rain and fall like weather to come.
