Sick, Sick, Sick

Last week my coworker kept randomly listing symptoms she was suffering from and then asking me if she had allergies or a cold. Well, as of Friday I can say without a doubt she had a cold and unfortunately I caught it. I spent the majority of the weekend in bed and watching the Star Wars series. When I’m sick I like to have Campbell’s chicken soup, garlic, and hot sake. Of course not all at the same time. My boyfriend swears by Sizzling Rice soup from our favorite Chinese restaurant. What are your favorites?

Kristi’s Sick at Home Extreme Garlic Bread

6 tablespoons of Butter
9-10 cloves of garlic
2 tablespoons of Parmesan
Small loaf of french bread (size of a football)

Set oven for 500 degrees.
Melt butter and add shredded parmesan and pressed garlic. Cut bread in half length wise. Spread butter mixture on to the open halves of the bread. Put on baking sheet and place in center rack of the oven. Bake for 6-8 minutes. Remove when golden brown.

If you feel like you may be coming down with something this does seem to ward off any potential germs amongst other things.

Oh that sounds soooo good. Isn’t garlic one of those wonder foods that can do no evil, unless you’re the one NOT eating it and your mate is? My mom always made me kimchee stew with kimchee and tofu when I was sick. The warmth and spiciness gets everything all loosened up ๐Ÿ™‚ Great hangover treat. I make it weekly for our daughter (adopted from Korea) and she hasn’t been sick yet (5 months). We joke that it’s the kimchee soup ๐Ÿ™‚

Hope you’re feeling better; if not, I’ll Fedex a bowl up to you ๐Ÿ™‚

Sorry you are sick. I hate when co-workers do that. When I am sick I like tomato soup or beef/veggie stew to warm me up. Otherwise I just go to bed. I hate being sick)-: I hope you feel better soon!

Chara Michelle: Thanks! I feel much better now.

Lotus: The Kimchee stew sounds awesome. I need to check that out.

Cindee: Doesn’t it just drive you crazy? I have another coworker who brings her sick kids to work.
I think you can’t go wrong with soup when your feeling under the weather.
