Can you believe that I had never had fresh cranberry sauce until last year? Now that I’ve tried it I can never go back to the cran in a can. It’s so easy to make and it’s so delicious. I like using it as a spread for my left over turkey sandwiches. Yum.
Cranberry Sauce
Makes 2 1/4 cups
3/4 cup
1 cup of sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 12-ounce bag cranberries (fresh)
1. In a medium size saucepan bring water, sugar and salt to a boil. Stir occasionally until sugar is dissolved.
2. Stir in cranberries and return to a boil. Reduce heat to medium.
3. Simmer until saucy, slightly thickened and about 2/3 of berries have popped open.
4. Transfer to bowl and cool at room temperature and serve.
It always cracks me up that people eat the canned stuff when fresh is so easy and SO YUMMY!
