I am not a skilled chef or cook. However, I have perfected the grilled cheese sandwich recipe in college. I think the biggest mistake people make is using white tasteless bread with American cheese. Grilled cheese is far better when you use better ingredients.
2 pieces French or sourdough bread
Medium cheddar cheese (high quality)
1. Heat a skillet to medium high heat. 2. Spread butter on over the top of the 2 slices of bread 3. Place sandwich topside down cook for 1-2 minutes until golden brown. 4. Using a spatula flip over and repeat on other side. 5. Remove from heat and slice. Cheese should be melted and bread should be a light golden brown. Serve with soup or chips and enjoy!
