A Wet and Sunny May Bloom Day

Mexican Primrose

Hail on Bloomday

Yesterday, was an interesting bloom day. Rain had been in the forecast for awhile but I assumed it would be one of those nice spring drizzles. I was quite surprised when in the middle of walking my dog we got pelted with hail accompanied by thunder and lightening. By the time we got home we were both soaked. Not only was it incredibly wet but it was actually the coldest day in May ever to be recorded in our area. Luckily, the sun made a brief appearance later that afternoon enabling me to take a few shots for bloom day. Bloom day is held on the 15th of the month and hosted by May Dreams Gardens.

Crazy to see hail with warm season annuals here, isn’t it?!

I know it’s so weird! On one hand I love it but on the other hand I really want some homegrown summer vegetables.

Don’t you love it when bees & bugs show up in the flower photos, nkristis? Looks like you caught a larva from a Ladybug in that yellow & white daisy-type flower (think it’s # 8) & a bee in #9.
Sometimes tiny spiders magically appear when I download my pictures when they were too small to see outside!
